WHAT IS THE JOB OF AERONAUTICS?

Aeronautical engineering is always in demand of the most modern technology for the invention, development and maintenance of the commercial or military air craft’s, space crafts and their components, satellites and missile as well. Designing, manufacturing, testing, operation are also come under aerospace engineering as all of them make the field more demanding one way or other. It needs perfect use of advanced technology.

QUALIFICATION:

A graduation degree or diploma in Aeronautics is the educational qualification required to be an Aeronautical Engineer. The person has to be physically fit and quick-witted. He has to have a perfect level of Mathematical precision and problem solving. Beside this, he must be adopt in computers and designing and has to have a good communication skills. The physical fitness of an Aeronautical Engineer is as important as his educational qualification as they have to work in high pressure, and sometimes very quickly, while checking and maintaining aircrafts and other related components.



SELECTION CRITERIA:

The eligibility for getting a degree in the field plus two or equivalent examinations with the subjects Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry. The student must have scored the required percentage of marks in the aggregate in plus two and the entrance test provides by the institutes as well. Many institutes in India offer either a degree or diploma in Aeronautics. The IIT’s, (Indian Institute of Technology.) in Chennai, Mumbai Kanpur, and Khargpur, the Madras Institutes of Technology, Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, Bangalore Institutes of Aeronautical Engineering and Information Technology are few institutes among them. The selection criteria of each college varies from one another. But most of them conduct tests before admission.

EMPLOYERS:

The leading employers of Aeronautical Engineers in India are Hindustan Aeronautical Ltd.(HAL) in Bangalore, Nashik, Korput and Kanpur. Defense Research and Development Laboratories, National aeronautical Lab (NAL) Aeronautical Development Establishment, Civil Aviation Department are also the key employers. The stalwarts among them are The Defense Services and The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
